Unfortunately, things didn't exactly go according to plan, as they found themselves dodging bombs, enduring days adrift at sea, and eventually landing on Radji Beach, where things took a grim turn. Picture this: 22 nurses marching into the sea like they're off to a picnic, only to face one of the darkest moments in history. It's not the kind of outing any of us would choose.

But it's not all gloom and doom, because Vivian, our leading lady, made it out alive and went on to spend the rest of the war in a prison camp before liberation. Post-war, she dedicated her life to ensuring her brave friends and colleagues were remembered for their extraordinary courage in the face of utter chaos.
