This month at Art After Dark the City of Albany's 2026 Team will give a relaxed run?through of what's planned for Albany's big 2026 program, a year of events that looks back at our past, celebrates our community now and nudges at what comes next. You'll hear about the Major Events and community-led initiatives that will bring the city to life in 2026 — immersive exhibitions and performances, storytelling, workshops and creative projects that centre diverse perspectives, support reconciliation and help keep Albany's rich heritage in the conversation.

Local artists and creatives behind those community activations will be on hand to share the stories and inspiration behind their projects, which is to say you'll hear why they're doing it and maybe how much coffee it took. The Albany 2026 program puts the community at its heart, encouraging shared cultural expression and intergenerational dialogue as part of an inclusive future. It's free to attend, but registration is required so they know roughly how many chairs and biscuits to arrange.
