Gather 'round art lovers and curious minds, because we're diving into the captivating world of the Brierley family, a creative bunch who left their brush strokes and literary musings all over Albany's cultural landscape in the mid-twentieth century. Kitty Brierley, born in 1903 and no stranger to talent, came from artistic stock thanks to her dad, Benjamin. This English chap, who migrated in 1857, was quite the painter himself and is partly to blame for Kitty's artistic journey. Their watercolours, sketches, and drawings are like little treasures scattered across the state, waiting to be appreciated by all.

Join us for a Curatorial Talk that promises some fascinating insights and perhaps a few amusing anecdotes from folks who knew the Brierleys personally. Our host for the morning is Albany historian Malcolm Traill, so get ready for some rich stories and possibly a little banter. Best of all, it won't cost you a dime.
