If youre in Albany or nearby and fancy a thoughtful evening out, theres a screening of the documentary Conquering Skin Cancer happening on Wednesday 29th October 2025 at 6:30pm in the Albany Town Hall on 217 York Street. Its not your typical film night, more like a chatty nudge about how we all pitch in to beat skin cancer, with stories from survivors, experts, and some familiar faces showing why prevention, spotting it early, getting fair treatment, and funding research matter so much. Basically, its a reminder that keeping our mates safe under that relentless Aussie sun starts with paying attention, without turning into a lecture.

Stick around afterwards for a Q and A with the folks involved, plus some light nibbles to munch while we ponder our love-hate thing with the sun. Its free, but youll need to book a spot to join in.
