Josh Kemp is heading to Albany for an author talk, and let me tell you, this guy knows how to keep it interesting. He's the genius behind some seriously gripping Australian gothic and crime fiction. His first novel, Banjawarn, didn't just stroll into the literary scene; it did a full-on dive and came out with a bunch of shiny awards, including the 2021 Dorothy Hewett Award and the 2022 Ned Kelly Award for Best Debut Crime Fiction. Now he's back with his second book, Jasper Cliff, which managed to snag a spot on the Fogarty Literary Award shortlist. Clearly, Josh isn't one to sit back and relax; he's all about chasing stories amidst the rugged red dirt of WA's north.

If you're up for some tales that might send a shiver down your spine or at least get you chuckling, pop by the Albany Public Library on Thursday, 10 October 2024, from 5.30 pm to 6.30 pm. It won't cost you a cent, which leaves you more funds for that post-talk coffee. You can reserve your spot online or give the library a ring at 6820 3600. Who knows, by the end of it all, you might have a new literary favourite or at least a ripper story for your next catch-up with mates.
