Mother by Cim Sears is this heartfelt dive into reclaiming a mums stolen identity, piecing together her lost family, and unpacking the wild, dreamlike twists in their lifelong bond. It all stems from her fierce love for growing flowers and the great outdoors, so the artist weaves in snaps of her birthplace out in the Western Desert and her own flower farm, throwing them up against the harsh reality of her kid years in state institutions under those old child removal policies. Picture this: from a rocky start that could have crushed anyone, she somehow bloomed anyway, building an incredible life that defied the odds. Its like a colourful mosaic of her story, those heavy quiet moments, and a nod to folks whove stared down erasure.
