A gathering is happening in Albany for health professionals who sometimes feel like they are playing 4D chess with complex dementia cases. Dementia Support Australia is putting on a free session where their team will delve into some of the trickier bits of care. We are talking about unravelling those behavioural changes that pop up, especially when mental health is also in the mix. They will also touch on understanding expressions of sexuality, because that is a thing, and how to keep things person centred with relationship based care. Basically, all the stuff that makes you go 'Hmm'.
You will get to hear directly from some actual dementia specialists, which is always good, and there will be a chance to throw your questions at an expert panel, so start thinking of some curly ones now. Plus, they will give you the lowdown on how to refer to DSA if you need some extra hands on support with behaviour planning, making sure you are doing things by the book. Afterwards, feel free to hang around for a bit of a chinwag with the team and other folks there. It will not cost you a cent, but you do need to register your interest. It is all happening on Thursday 24th July 2025, kicking off at 1:30pm at the Hilton Garden Inn Albany, which is at 3 Toll Place in Albany, Western Australia.
