Come along during NAIDOC week 2026 for a bit of lunch and a documentary about three brothers who accidentally turned a dance group into a cultural powerhouse. Firestarter: The Story of Bangarra is exactly what it sounds like a story of determination, dance, and possibly some very sore feet. It celebrates Bangarras 30th anniversary, and it follows Stephen, David and Russell Page as they build something that would change the game for First Nations storytelling. Its a free event, so you can fill your belly and your brain at the same time.

The screening runs from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm on Thursday 9 July 2026 at the Albany Public Library Meeting Rooms, 221 York Street, Albany WA. You do need to register, because they need to know how many sandwiches to order. Dont be the reason someone misses out on a ham and cheese roll.
