Storytime is a relaxed, slightly theatrical half an hour where books get read, puppets pop in for dramatic effect and sensory toys add a tactile twist. It's all about sparking imagination, boosting language and literacy, and giving little ones a low-pressure chance to socialise. Short attention spans, loud giggles and earnest impersonations of story characters are not only accepted, they are quietly celebrated.

Sessions are free and run for about 30 minutes. The session is designed to be inclusive and welcoming, so if you or your child have any specific needs or requests let the library know and they will try to accommodate. It runs Thursday 4 September 2025 from 10:30am to 11:00am at Albany Public Library, 221 York Street, Albany 6330.
